A PandaDoc alternative for consultants and small agencies

PandaDoc and DraftYourBid overlap more than either overlaps with a pure e-signature tool: both cover proposals, quotes and signing. The differences are in how the document gets written, how the pricing scales with a team, and how much you get before paying.

The short version

Choose PandaDoc if…

Choose PandaDoc if the look of the document matters as much as its content — a rich drag-and-drop editor, embedded video, a content library and payment collection inside the document. Also choose it if you need SOC 2 Type II or HIPAA on paper, or an API.

Choose DraftYourBid if…

Choose DraftYourBid if the hard part is writing the thing, not designing it, and if you want a client pipeline and contract renewals in the same tool without moving up a pricing tier.

What PandaDoc does better

  • A rich drag-and-drop editor with embedded video, themes and a content library
  • Collect payment inside the document
  • Configure-price-quote on the higher tiers
  • SOC 2 Type II and an optional HIPAA configuration
  • An API, webhooks and a wide set of CRM integrations
  • A free plan with a real annual document allowance rather than a trial

What we do better

  • Drafts the proposal or quote from documents you have already written, rather than starting from a blank template
  • A client pipeline is included rather than being an integration with someone else’s CRM
  • Contract renewal warnings, so a retainer does not quietly lapse
  • Team and Agency plans include seats instead of charging per person
  • Bulk send is a normal feature of the paid plans, not an optional extra
  • Eleven languages across the product and the documents it produces

How PandaDoc prices it

We do not quote anyone else’s prices here. They change often enough that a number on this page would be wrong before you read it, and the shape of the pricing matters more than the figure anyway. Both live pricing pages are linked below.

  • Priced per seat, per month, on every paid plan
  • A genuinely usable free plan with an annual document allowance
  • Quotes, CRM integrations, custom branding and bulk send sit on the middle tier
  • Bulk send and several integrations are marked optional even on that tier

PandaDoc’s public pricing and feature pages were last read on 21 September 2026. If something here no longer matches what they publish, their page is right and ours is out of date — tell us and we will fix it.

Two different bets about what is slow

PandaDoc bets that the slow part is assembling and designing the document, so it gives you an excellent editor, a content library and reusable blocks. If your proposals are visual and you send a lot of them, that is the right bet and the editor is genuinely better than ours.

We bet that the slow part is writing the words. So the product reads the proposals and contracts you have already written and drafts the next one in your own language and structure. If you have ever stared at a blank template knowing roughly what you want to say, that is the difference.

Per seat versus per plan

Per-seat pricing is honest and it scales smoothly. It also means a three-person agency pays three times a one-person agency for the same feature set.

Our Team and Agency plans include a number of seats in the plan price. Below roughly ten people that usually works out cheaper; above it, per-seat pricing wins, and we are not the right shape of product anyway.

What we do not have

No payment collection inside the document. No CPQ. No API. A much plainer editor. If any of those are on your list, PandaDoc is the better tool and this page is not going to talk you out of it.

Frequently asked questions

Does DraftYourBid have a free plan like PandaDoc?

Yes, though the shapes differ. Ours allows three documents a month across proposals, quotes and contracts, with one signer, and includes the full unwatermarked certificate of completion. PandaDoc’s free plan works on an annual document allowance. Check both against your actual monthly volume.

Can I move my PandaDoc templates across?

There is no import tool. The practical route is to export a few of your best finished documents as PDFs and upload them — the product uses them as the basis for drafting new ones, so previous work carries over as style rather than as templates.

Which has the better editor?

PandaDoc, clearly. Theirs is a drag-and-drop editor with media, themes and a content library. Ours is a straightforward rich-text editor aimed at getting good text onto the page.

Do you integrate with my CRM?

Not currently. The counter-argument is that a small client pipeline is built in, so for a lot of small services businesses there is no second CRM to integrate with. If you already run HubSpot or Salesforce and need documents inside it, PandaDoc is the better fit.

Try it on a real document

The free plan sends three documents a month with the full certificate of completion. That is enough to judge it on your own work rather than on a comparison table.
